This allows the solar micro inverter to treat each solar panel as an indivdual rather than a whole. If one solar panel is weaker or malfunctions, it will not affect the other solar panel's current. String Inverters

Battery Backup Inverters

The solar panels collect the solar rays and pass the energy to the solar batteries, which is regulated by a solar charge controller. Once the solar batteries are full, the energy will be passed back to the utility grid. This effectivley reduces your energy bill, while preparing you for when the utility grid goes down.

Central Inverters

The alternating current is then passed to the electric grid.
